What they’re saying

I highly recommend the Skills and Jobs Centre. The staff provided me with support transitioning from VCE into the workforce. They went above and beyond assisting me to update my resume, complete job applications and provide interview skills. I wouldn't be where I am in the workforce without the help from the Skills and Jobs Centre.

AshaAge 18, Transitioning from VCE

After taking time to care for my young family, I thought I wanted to study. After a chat to the careers coach I realised I had an opportunity to return to my previous career of 15 years. Their career guidance in setting me up with a strong application gave me the confidence. I'm now working 28 hours a week and I'm really happy.

KristiReturning to the workforce

At 64 years of age, it was all very daunting. I was so thankful I could pick up the phone or call into the centre any time. I had been a dairy farmer with my husband for 20+ years and I'd never written myself a resume or cover letter. I had also never needed to apply for online checks or sit an interview. With the help of a careers coach, I now work in a role I'm passionate about.

MerleAge 64, career change

With my job of 20+ years made redundant I was fortunate to meet up with a careers coach from the Skills and Jobs Centre. I received great assurance, current advice and support to develop the tools required to gain further employment. And I did! Their support was invaluable for me.
